Australia’s 2014-15 Migration Programme

 The Australian Government recently announced the 2014-15 migration programme which sees a  total of 190 000 places available. Change to migration health check provider – for applicants already in Australia

From 25 July 2014 Medibank Health Solutions will cease operations as the migration medical services provider for the Department of Immigration. The department has selected Bupa Medical Visa Services to deliver these services from now on. Polio vaccination – changed requirements

The Australian Government  is introducing additional measures in response to the recent World Health Organisation declaration that polio virus transmission is a Public Health Emergency of International Concern. Visa applicants applying from outside Australia and those who have spent a period of 28 days or longer on or after 5 May 2014 in Afghanistan, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Iraq, Israel, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somalia or Syria, or in any combination of these countries, should be vaccinated against polio prior to their departure.
